Eden Hazard has admitted that Kevin De Bruyne has developed into the Premier League’s best player since leaving Chelsea.

The Belgian attacker joined Chelsea in January 2012 but he failed to hold down a regular starting spot in the first team at Stamford Bridge and was shipped out on loan to Werder Bremen.

Chelsea then opted to sell De Bruyne on a permanent transfer to Wolfsburg back in January 2014.

He impressed during his time in Germany and Manchester City made a move to bring him back to England in August 2015.

De Bruyne has been one of the Premier League’s standout players this season after Manchester City’s fine start to the new season under Pep Guardiola.

The 26-year-old has scored three goals and made 11 assists in all competitions for the Citizens to help them lead the way at the top of the Premier League table.

And Hazard, who knows De Bruyne well from their national team exploits with Belgium, believes that the attacker is now the best player in the Premier League.

Hazard is quoted as saying by Metro: “Kevin is definitely the best player in the Premier League.

“He plays with a good team but that’s also thanks to him that they play so well. The Guardiola system has been written on its own.

“He has been criticised when he has played for Belgium, but I do not always think that’s fair.

“He always carries out everything and does his best. He’s an excellent player for our team.”

De Bruyne scored the opening goal for Manchester City as they claimed a 3-1 victory over Arsenal at The Etihad in the Premier League last weekend.
