Steven Gerrard raves about Eden Hazard ahead of Liverpool FC v Chelsea
Liverpool FC legend Steven Gerrard is clearly a huge admirer of Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard
Steven Gerrard was hugely impressed by Eden Hazard’s performance for Chelsea in the Blues’ 4-0 victory over Qarabag in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Belgian playmaker was in fine form for the Blues as he helped to inspire the west London side through to the last 16 of Europe’s elite club competition.
Hazard scored Chelsea’s opener from the penalty spot in the first half and combined well with Willian throughout as the Blues secured an impressive win in Baku.
Chelsea now turn their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their crunch clash against Liverpool FC at Anfield on Saturday evening.
And former Liverpool FC star Gerrard has warned the Reds that Hazard looks like he is hitting top form again in the build-up to Chelsea’s trip to Merseyside.
Speaking during BT Sport‘s coverage of Wednesday’s game, Gerrard said: “It’s exactly what we were talking about before the game started, Eden Hazard being world-class.
“Do you just judge him on goals or on these magical moments that put him in the world-class bracket?
“His vision and awareness there [to set up Willian for the second goal] is sensational.”
Chelsea head into their clash with Liverpool FC in third place in the Premier League table and nine points behind leaders Manchester City after 12 matches of the new campaign.
Liverpool FC, meanwhile, are aiming to get back to winning ways after the disappointment of their 3-3 draw with Sevilla on Tuesday night, with Jurgen Klopp’s men having let a 3-0 half-time lead slip.
