The Belgium international has been working his way back to full fitness for the Blues after having missed the first few games of the new season due to a serious ankle injury.
Hazard was widely praised for his first-half performance against Liverpool FC at Anfield on Saturday night as he sparkled for the west London side.
And former Chelsea winger Nevin believes that Hazard is now approaching his best-ever form in a Chelsea shirt.
Writing in his column on Chelsea’s website, Nevin said: “Eden was absolutely on fire [against Liverpool FC].
“The level he was playing at was right up there with the best I have ever seen from him.
“The entire opposition team looked like they were wearing lead boots in his presence and the only useful thing they could do with those lead boots was try to kick him.
“It was a masterclass of skill and balance and he must have hips of cast iron considering the stresses he puts on them with those turns.”
Hazard will be expecting to start for Chelsea when the Blues return to Premier League action on Saturday with a home clash against Newcastle United.
The 26-year-old has won two Premier League titles since his move to Stamford Bridge from Lille back in the summer of 2012.
Chelsea are aiming to try and defend their Premier League title this season after having won the trophy in style under Antonio Conte last season.
The Blues successfully booked their place in the last 16 of the Champions League last week with their 4-0 victory over Qarabag in Azerbaijan.
