Rio Ferdinand raves about Eden Hazard ahead of Liverpool FC v Chelsea
Rio Ferdinand explains why he is such a big fan of Eden Hazard at Chelsea
Rio Ferdinand has singled out Eden Hazard as the main man for Chelsea ahead of Saturday’s crunch clash at Anfield against Liverpool FC in the Premier League.
The Belgian playmaker has been in fine form for the west London side in recent weeks and he helped to fire the Blues to a 4-0 win over Qarabag in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Hazard has scored six goals and made three assists in all competitions for Chelsea so far this season since making his return from a serious ankle injury at the start of the season.
And Ferdinand has heaped praise on the Belgium international, describing him as the key man for the Blues as they prepare to take on Liverpool FC this weekend.
Speaking to BT Sport last week, Ferdinand said: “I think Eden Hazard is the key.
“He makes this team tick. He’s the guy with the stardust. They look to him for inspiration.
“Him, closely followed by N’Golo Kante, makes this team tick.”
Chelsea head into their clash against Liverpool FC looking for a win to move six points clear of the Reds.
The west London side already find themselves nine points behind leaders Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title as they look to try and defend the trophy this term.
The Blues won the title in style in Antonio Conte’s first season in charge at the west London club last term.
