Frank Lampard admits Eden Hazard is linking up ‘brilliantly’ with Chelsea signing
Frank Lampard heaps praise on Eden Hazard following his top form for Chelsea and link with Alvaro Morata
Frank Lampard has heaped praise on Eden Hazard for the way he has quickly been able to strike up an understanding with Alvaro Morata at Chelsea.
Morata is currently getting used to life at Stamford Bridge after having signed for the Blues from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The Spanish striker has made a strong start to his Chelsea career, having scored eight goals and made four assists in his first 12 Premier League games for the west London side.
But possibly most promisingly for Chelsea, Morata seems to have quickly struck up a good understanding with Hazard.
And former Chelsea star Lampard believed that the pair are already starting to show signs of being able to develop a crucial partnership at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to BT Sport on Saturday, Chelsea’s all-time record goal-scorer Lampard said: “I don’t want to put him [Hazard] in the same bracket as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, because they’re on their own.
“[But] the top players start [their careers out] wide and they’re so good, you have to get them central and in the really crucial parts of the pitch.
“Eden Hazard’s there now and him and Alvaro Morata are working brilliantly.”
Both Morata and Hazard will be expecting to start for Chelsea when the Blues return to Premier League action on Wednesday night with a home clash against Swansea City.
Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool FC at Anfield on Saturday left Antonio Conte’s men third in the table and 11 points behind leaders Manchester City after 13 games of the new campaign.
