Jamie Carragher believes Antonio Conte will be at Chelsea at the end of the season.

The defending Premier League champions were 1-0 winners against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

Chelsea are nine points adrift of current leaders Manchester City after 11 games to leave Conte’s men will have an uphill battle in the title race.

The west London side suffered a surprise 3-2 loss to Burnley at Stamford Bridge in their season opener.

The Blues succumbed to their second defeat of the campaign when Kevin De Bruyne scored a winner against his former club to secure a 1-0 win for Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea lost 2-1 to the Premier League’s basement club Crystal Palace at the start of October to leave the title holders with a lot of work to do.

Former Liverpool defender Carragher believes Conte will last the season at Chelsea despite a tough start to the campaign.

“Yes, he should last the season. They’re going to be one of the teams to beat,” Carragher told Sky Sports.

Asked about Conte’s long-term future at Stamford Bridge, the Sky Sports pundit tipped the Italian to leave the west London club ahead of the 2018-19 season.

“I don’t think he’ll be there next season though. I thing the ruptures will continue in January.

“If Chelsea aren’t as successful this season it will all come back to the summer when he didn’t get the players he wanted.

“The people at the top run this club – the manager probably doesn’t have as much say as he would like.”

Chelsea signed six players in the summer transfer window to bolster their squad ahead of a return to the Champions League.

However, the Blues controversially sold Nemanja Matic in a £40m deal to title rivals Manchester United in August.

Diego Costa secured a return to Atletico Madrid after three seasons at Stamford Bridge.
