Pat Nevin believes Chelsea will pose a big threat in the title race if Antonio Conte can call upon a fully fit squad.

The defending Premier League champions have struggled throughout the 2017-18 season so far with some big-name players missing.

Eden Hazard started the season on the sidelines after the Belgian forward broke his ankle on international duty in May.

Chelsea signing Tiemoue Bakayoko was also out with a fitness concern before he returned for a 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

Suspensions to Cesc Fabregas and David Luiz limited Conte’s options, while Victor Moses has been struggling with a niggling injury problem.

Alvaro Morata suffered a hamstring injury during Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge at the end of September.

France inernational N’Golo Kante was also sidelined with an injury after he picked up a problem during October’s international break.

However, Chelsea were able to call upon Hazard, Kante and Morata last weekend as Chelsea eased to a 1-0 win against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Former Blues winger Nevin believes Chelsea have a squad capable of challenging Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham for the title if Conte can keep his key players fit.

“Most importantly, the last break cost us N’Golo for a month,” Nevin told Chelsea’s website.

“I just hope that everyone is back fit for the West Brom game.

“If so then Antonio will finally have a full complement to pick from this season and that I assure you will be worrying just about everyone else in the league.”
