Antonio Conte sends message to Chelsea fans about David Luiz
The Chelsea manager confirms David Luiz is set to return to his squad for their trip to West Brom on Saturday

Antonio Conte has confirmed that David Luiz is set to return to his squad for Chelsea’s trip to West Brom on Saturday.
The Brazilian defender was a surprising omission for Chelsea’s last Premier League game as he was forced to sit in the stands for the visit of bitter rivals Manchester United.
Twenty-one year old Andreas Christensen excelled in Luiz’s absence as the Denmark international kept Romelu Lukaku quiet during Chelsea’s 1-0 win against Manchester United.
Ex-Paris Saint Germain defender Luiz was left out of the Chelsea squad following a reported fallout with Blues boss Conte ahead of the visit of Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
Luiz played a key role in helping Chelsea to win the Premier League title with two games to spare last term following his return to Stamford Bridge in the 2016 summer transfer window.
Speaking at his pre-match media conference ahead of Chelsea’s trip to West Brom this weekend, Conte confirmed Luiz was set to return to his match day squad, but said little else.
“I think I stay here to speak for the team before an important game against West Bromwich, not about a single player. I don’t like,” Conte told his news conference on Friday.
Chelsea re-signed Luiz in a £32m deal last summer having sold the South American defender to PSG in a £50m deal in 2014.
The Blues won the Premier League title at West Brom last term.
