Frank Lampard has talked up the partnership between Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata.

The defending Premier League champions signed Morata in a £58m deal from La Liga giants Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

The Spain international was signed as a replacement for controversial striker Diego Costa after the 28-year-old returned to Atletico Madrid.

Morata has scored six times in nine appearances in the Premier League, including a hat-trick in a 4-1 win at Stoke City.

Hazard teed up Morata to score Chelsea’s equaliser in a 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League in the Spanish capital last month.

The Spanish forward turned provider at Bournemouth last weekend after Morata teed up Hazard to score the winner in a 1-0 victory at the Vitality Stadium.

The £58m addition has made an impressive start to his Chelsea career after showing signs of a growing understanding with Blues number 10 Hazard.

Former Chelsea midfielder Lampard is encouraged about the blossoming relationship between Hazard and Morata.

“When you have the link you don’t have to look at each other, you know where the other player is,” Lampard told BT Sport.

“There is a real confidence that comes from it. Those two as a pair are so dangerous.”

Chelsea won the Premier League title with two games to spare last season after finishing seven points clear of their closest title challengers Tottenham Hotspur.

The west London side lost 2-1 to bitter rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup at Wembley last term.
