Alvaro Morata: How I like to celebrate Chelsea winning
The Chelsea summer signing reveals how he likes to celebrate when the defending Premier League champions win
Alvaro Morata has revealed that he likes to walk home and grab a beer when Chelsea win at Stamford Bridge.
The Spain international completed a £58m move to the defending Premier League champions from La Liga giants Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The Blues signed Morata to help fill the goal void left by Diego Costa after the controversial striker was told his Chelsea career was over.
The Brazilian-born striker sealed a return to Atletico Madrid on loan in September with view to a permanent switch at the end of the season.
Morata scored six goals in 10 games in the Premier League ahead of the visit of Manchester United at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
The Spanish forward scored a 55th-minute winner in a 1-0 victory over Jose Mourinho’s men in west London.
And Morata has revealed how he likes to celebrate a Chelsea home win given his ideal location five minutes from Stamford Bridge.
“I live in Chelsea five minutes away from the stadium and sometimes at the end of the match, if the roads are closed, I take my training gear off and walk home,” Morata told Cadena Ser.
“If we win I give myself the reward of having a beer.
“I change my clothes, I take off Chelsea’s because if it’s not impossible, I put on a hat and go home.”
Morata scored his first Chelsea hat-trick in a 4-1 win against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium back in September.
He also scored the crucial equaliser in Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Atletico Madrid in his hometown to help the Blues secure a significant Champions League win.
