On-loan Chelsea striker explains how Man United duo inspire him
On-loan Chelsea star Tammy Abraham explains how Man United duo Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford have inspired him
Tammy Abraham has explained how Manchester United duo Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford have inspired the on-loan Chelsea star.
The 20-year-old attacker moved to Welsh side Swansea City on loan at the start of the 2017-18 season to gain more first-team experience.
Abraham has scored four goals and has made one assist in 11 appearances in the Premier League this season to earn a first England senior call-up.
The forward’s decision to secure a temporary switch to Swansea appears to have paid dividend given Abraham’s rising status in the Premier League.
The on-loan Chelsea star will be hoping to leave his mark on the international set-up with next summer’s World Cup in Russia on the horizon.
And Abraham revealed that Manchester United duo Lingard and Rashford are a source of inspiration after their effortless transition from England youth international to fully fledged senior team member.
“The lads are very bubbly and when you look at players like Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard, you can see that they’re confident lads and it gives you that nice belief in yourself as well when you get to play with top talented players like that,” Abraham told his pre-match media conference.
Chelsea’s decision to send Abraham on a season-long loan at Swansea has attracted some criticism given Alvaro Morata’s injury problems.
Abraham scored 23 goals in 41 appearances in the Championship last season during a season-long loan at Bristol City.
He also netted three goals in four games in the League Cup to make his mark during the loan spell.
