Paul Merson predicts where Chelsea will finish in the table
Paul Merson is not expecting to see Chelsea retain their Premier League title this season

Paul Merson believes that Chelsea are unlikely to win the Premier League title this season.
The Blues were the Premier League’s standout team last term as they won the trophy for the second time in three years in Antonio Conte’s first campaign in charge at the club.
However, the west London side have made something of a stuttering start to the new campaign and have struggled to find consistent form in the top flight this season.
Chelsea are already some way behind Manchester City in the race for the title as the Blues look to juggle their Premier League games with a return to the Champions League group stage.
And former Arsenal star Merson admits that he isn’t expecting to see Chelsea retain the Premier League title this season.
Writing in his column for the Daily Star, Merson simply said: “The title still looks like it might be beyond them.”
Chelsea return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to the Hawthorns to take on West Brom on Saturday 18 November.
The west London side did not have the distraction of European football last season as they focused purely on domestic affairs in Conte’s first campaign at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues won the League Cup and Premier League under Jose Mourinho in 2014-15.
