Alvaro Morata names the player he wants Chelsea to sign in January
Alvaro Morata admits he would love to see Chelsea make a move to sign Isco from Real Madrid
Alvaro Morata has revealed that he would love to see Chelsea make a move to sign Isco from Real Madrid in the January transfer window, but admits it would be unlikely.
Morata is currently getting used to life in the Premier League after having signed for Chelsea in the summer transfer window from Real Madrid.
The 25-year-old has made a solid start to life in England, scoring seven goals and making three assists in his first 10 Premier League outings for the west London club.
Morata knows Isco well from having played with the Spaniard at international level and at Real Madrid.
And the new Chelsea signing admits that he would jump at the chance for the Blues to sign Isco, although he concedes a deal probably won’t happen any time soon.
Morata told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser: “I would take [Isco] to Chelsea now when I return [from Spain duty].
“But I think that right now he has one of the most important roles at Madrid. In the national team he is also key.
“I think he is unstoppable when he feels important. The whole world has seen it since he took the reins at Madrid.
“He is the most important player at Real Madrid and in the national team. He changes the games, he makes the difference. He dances with the ball. Furthermore, he is my friend.”
Morata will be expecting to feature for Chelsea when the Blues return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to West Brom next weekend.
The Spain international headed the winner for the Blues when Chelsea sealed a 1-0 victory over Manchester United last weekend to close the gap to the Red Devils down to a single point.
