The Spanish midfielder was in fine form for the west London club as Antonio Conte’s men claimed an impressive victory against their title rivals in west London.
It was Alvaro Morata who scored the only goal of the game, when he headed home Cesar Azpilicueta’s cross in the 55th minute at Stamford Bridge.
Fabregas was named as the man of the match after a strong display for the west London side against Jose Mourinho’s men.
And former Liverpool star Souness was very impressed by what he saw from the 30-year-old midfielder on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Souness said: “Cesc Fabregas was outstanding today.
“He needs legs around him but if you give him space and time on the ball, he’s going to hurt you and he did that today.
“Tiemoue Bakayoko and N’Golo Kante worked their socks off, which gave him a lot of freedom. I thought he was fabulous today.”
The win left Chelsea in fourth place in the Premier League table but now just one point behind Manchester United, who are second and eight points behind leaders Manchester City.
Chelsea return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to the Hawthorns to take on West Bromwich Albion on Saturday 18 November.
Fabregas has scored one goal and made one assist in 10 Premier League games for Chelsea so far this season.
