Chelsea injury scare as summer signing pulls up ‘in agony’ in training – report
Tiemoue Bakayoko pulled up in Chelsea training "in agony" on Friday, according to reports
Chelsea have suffered a fresh injury scare after Tiemoue Bakayoko broke down in training on Friday, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that the midfielder was unable to complete training on Friday and limped off the field for treatment after pulling up during the session at the Blues’ Cobham training base.
The same report claims that Bakayoko pulled up “in agony” during training to leave him as a possible doubt for next weekend’s trip to West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League.
It is claimed in the same story that Bakayoko suffered the problem while taking part in one-to-one session at Cobham.
Bakayoko’s potential absence will come as a concern to Antonio Conte’ who has already lost the likes of N’Golo Kante, Victor Moses and Danny Drinkwater to injuries this season.
The 22-year-old French midfielder, who signed for the Blues from Monaco back in the summer, earned praise for his strong performance for the west London side in Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Premier League last weekend.
The summer signing has already missed the first part of the campaign due to a knee injury and Chelsea fans will be hoping that his reported setback on Friday is not serious.
Chelsea are currently fourth in the Premier League table and nine points behind leaders Manchester City after 11 games of the new campaign.
