Victor Moses claims Chelsea have one of Premier League’s most underrated players
Victor Moses says Chelsea full-back Cesar Azpilicueta is one of the most underrated players in England
Victor Moses believes that Cesar Azpilicueta is one of the most underrated players in England and says Chelsea are lucky to have him.
The Spanish defender has earned plenty of praise for his performances for the west London club in recent seasons and he played every single minute of the Blues’ Premier League title triumph under Antonio Conte last term.
Azpilicueta has picked up where he left off this season by starting all 11 of Chelsea’s Premier League games, making five assists and scoring one goal for Antonio Conte’s men.
The 28-year-old is now starting to get the recognition he deserves for his strong performances for the west London club in recent years.
However, Moses still feels that Azpilicueta is one of the most underrated players in the Premier League.
Speaking to Goal, Moses said: “To me, I would say that Cesar is underrated. As a defender he has got everything. He’s quick, he’s got that desire, passion for the game. He just wants to play football.
“Azpilicueta is never tired. He can run all night in every minute. He wants to play every game.
“I think he could play on a Saturday and then again on a Monday. He’s got a great ability.
“It is great for us that we have him. He’s someone that loves the game. He is always talking to every player before games. He wakes everyone up and says we have got to go out there and win this game.
Both Moses and Azpilicueta will be hoping to feature for Chelsea when the Blues take on West Bromwich Albion after the international break next weekend.
Moses will be hoping to make his return to action from a hamstring injury, but it remains to be seen whether he will be thrown straight back into the fray by Conte at The Hawthorns on Saturday.
