Chelsea have made an approach to sign Hamburg forward Jann-Fiete Arp but face competition from other Premier League clubs, according to reports in Germany.

German newspaper SportBild, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Blues are keen on signing the 17-year-old forward to bolster their attacking options at Stamford Bridge.

The report says that Chelsea have made an enquiry about the teenager’s availability but they could be set to face competition from the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

The same story claims that the Blues could end up completing a deal to land the highly-rated forward next summer, when he will have just one year remaining on his contract at Hamburg.

Arp has scored two goals in three appearances for Hamburg so far this season.

Chelsea were one of the busiest Premier League clubs in the summer as they brought in six new signings ahead of Antonio Conte’s second season in charge at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have made something of a stuttering start to the new Premier League season but they returned to winning ways last weekend when they sealed an impressive 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to West Brom on Saturday 18 November.
