Steven Gerrard makes claim about Eden Hazard at Chelsea
Steven Gerrard believes that Eden Hazard still has some work to do to be considered world class at Chelsea
Steven Gerrard believes that Eden Hazard needs to start producing more regularly in the big games for Chelsea in the coming seasons.
The Belgian playmaker has earned a reputation as one of European football’s top attacking talents since his move to the west London club from Lille back in 2012.
Hazard has helped Chelsea to win two Premier League titles during his time at the club and was voted as the PFA player of the year in the 2014-15 campaign.
The 26-year-old is widely regarded as having the potential to develop into one of the best attacking players in Europe.
However, former Liverpool midfielder Gerrard feels that Hazard needs to start delivering on the big stage more often for Chelsea to be considered in that category.
Speaking to BT Sport this week, Gerrard said: “He needs some really big moments.
“He needs a performance in a semi final or a final that pushes him to the next level.”
Hazard will be expecting to start for Chelsea when the Blues return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon with a crunch clash against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues head into that game looking to return to winning ways after the disappointment of their 3-0 Champions League loss to Roma on Tuesday night.
Chelsea are currently fourth in the Premier League table and nine points behind leaders Manchester City after 10 games of the season.
