Jurgen Klopp sends message to Liverpool FC fans about Trent Alexander-Arnold
Jurgen Klopp heaps praise on Trent Alexander-Arnold following his sparkling display for Liverpool FC against Southampton
Jurgen Klopp singled out Trent Alexander-Arnold for special praise after his fine performance for Liverpool FC in the 3-0 win over Southampton on Saturday at Anfield.
The 19-year-old featured from the start and played the full 90 minutes on Merseyside as he filled in for Joe Gomez at Anfield and produced a solid performance.
Alexander-Arnold has now already made four starts in the Premier League for Klopp’s men, as well as featuring three times in the Champions League.
And Klopp was delighted by the teenager’s solid display for the Merseyside outfit as Liverpool FC claimed a comfortable win over the Saints on Saturday.
Speaking at his post-match news conference at Anfield on Saturday, Klopp said: “We have Trent and he is another type of defender.
“When he started he was a proper winger and sometimes a defender, and now he is a proper defender and sometimes a winger and that makes much more sense for this position.
“He was really good today [against Southampton], it was one of his best performances over 90 minutes in defending. What he can do offensively everybody knows. It’s good for us we have the two of them.”
Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their crunch clash against Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday night as they look to book their place in the last 16 of Europe’s elite club competition.
The Reds will then switch their focus back to Premier League affairs and their crunch clash with Chelsea at Anfield on Saturday night, as they look to keep their title bid on track.
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season in what was Klopp’s first full campaign in charge on Merseyside.
