Gus Poyet predicts 26-year-old will score in Liverpool v Chelsea
The Chelsea legend is tipping Eden Hazard to score against Liverpool at Anfield this weekend
Gus Poyet is tipping Eden Hazard to score first in Chelsea’s clash against Liverpool FC at Anfield on Saturday evening.
The Belgium international has been in scintillating form in recent weeks thanks to a return of three goals in his last two games.
Hazard scored twice in Chelsea’s 4-0 win against West Brom at The Hawthorns in one of his best performances of the Premier League campaign.
The 26-year-old was on the score sheet again in a 4-0 win against Qarabag in their penultimate Champions League group-stage fixture.
Hazard was in brilliant form throughout the 2016-17 season to help Chelsea to win the Premier League crown with two games to spare.
The attacker netted 16 times to help Chelsea win the Premier League title in their first season under Antonio Conte.
Former Chelsea midfielder Poyet is backing Hazard to get on the score sheet in the defending champions’ clash against Liverpool this weekend.
“Hazard will definitely score the first goal of the game. He’s coming back to his best form and this is the perfect game to prove it,” Poyet told BetStars.
Hazard won the PFA Premier League player of the year in 2015 thanks to a return of 14 goals in 38 games in his first title-winning season.
Chelsea are in third place in the Premier League table but nine points behind current leaders Manchester City.
The Blues signed six players in the summer transfer window.
