Dietmar Hamann reacts to Mohamed Salah’s display in Liverpool v Chelsea
The Liverpool FC legend reacts to Mohamed Salah's performance in Saturday evening's 1-0 win over Chelsea
Dietmar Hamann hailed Mohamed Salah’s impact at Liverpool FC after Mohamed Salah scored his 10th Premier League goal of the season in a 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
The African forward retained his spot in Jurgen Klopp’s starting line-up after the Merseyside outfit squandered a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 with Sevilla in their penultimate Champions League group stage fixture mid-week.
Salah took his tally to nine goals in 12 games with a double in Liverpool’s 3-0 win against Southampton last weekend to break Robbie Fowler’s Premier League record in scintillating fashion.
The Egypt international was pitted against his former club Chelsea on Saturday evening having spent six months at Stamford Bridge before moving to Serie A.
And Salah broke the deadlock midway through the second half with a precise finish after Tiemoue Bakayoko failed to prevent the ball reaching the Premier League’s leading goal-scorer.
Former Liverpool FC midfielder Hamann lavished praise on Salah for his incredible impact at Anfield over the past few months after Willian levelled in the 85th minute.
Hamann wrote on Twitter: “Salah is a hell of a signing. Showed great respect for Chelsea by not celebrating after his 13 appearances for them.”
Salah has now scored 15 times in 20 games in all competitions to remain on course to beat his career best tally of 19 goals during his second season at AS Roma.
Liverpool FC missed out in the chance to hoist themselves into the top four and level on points with third-placed Chelsea following Willian’s equaliser.
