Steven Gerrard heaps praise on Mohamed Salah after another strong display from the Liverpool FC star
Steven Gerrard lavished yet more praise on Mohamed Salah after his sparkling performance for Liverpool FC in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Saturday.
The Egypt international has hit the ground running at Anfield since his move to the club from Roma in the summer transfer window and his continued his fine form against his former club on Saturday.
Salah put Liverpool FC ahead in the 65th minute after a goalless first half at Anfield with a cool finish.
However, Willian came off the bench for Chelsea to net an equaliser late on for the west London side.
The 25-year-old attacker has scored a remarkable 10 goals and made two assists in his first 13 Premier League appearances for Liverpool FC so far this season.
And former Liverpool FC captain Gerrard has been hugely impressed by what he has seen from Salah since his move to Merseyside.
Speaking to BT Sport after the game, Gerrard said of Salah: “He was outstanding.
“He’s always a threat. He’s so strong on the ball, he’s a bit like Eden Hazard if you like – very well built, people bounce off him.
“When he gets through on goal it’s his calmness, how relaxed he is… he picks his corner. He’s a terrific finisher.
“He works hard for the team. At the moment, where Liverpool are, they can’t afford to rest him.”
Salah will be expecting to start for Liverpool FC when the Reds try to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they take on Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium on Wednesday night.
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the table under Jurgen Klopp last season.
