Frank Lampard has reminded Liverpool FC that they are set to welcome back one of their best players when Adam Lallana returns to action.

The England international midfielder has been sidelined with a thigh injury and is yet to make a single appearance for the Merseyside outfit in all competitions this season.

Lallana was a regular starter in the Liverpool side last season and he will be hoping to quickly win back a place under Jurgen Klopp when he is back fully fit.

The 29-year-old is now closing in on a return to action for the Reds and Lampard has claimed that the Merseyside outfit have a top quality player to welcome back when he is fully fit again.

Speaking to BT Sport after Liverpool’s win over West Ham on Saturday, Lampard said: “We don’t even talk about Adam Lallana because he’s been out for a while. But what a fantastic player he is to come back.

“They’ve got so many options.

“When Liverpool are on their game, they’re as good as anyone in the Premier League to watch.”

Liverpool thrashed West Ham 4-1 to make it back to back wins in the Premier League heading into the international break.

The Reds return to action after the international break with a home clash against Southampton at Anfield in the Premier League as they look to try and claw their way back into the title race in the lead-up to the hectic festive period.

Liverpool finished fourth in the Premier League table under Klopp last season.
