Steven Gerrard delivers encouraging verdict on Liverpool FC signing
The Liverpool FC legend believes Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is starting to look more like himself at Anfield

Steven Gerrard believes Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is starting to look more like himself at Liverpool but warned the summer signing must deliver at Anfield.
The Reds signed the England international in a £40m deal from defending FA Cup champions Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Oxlade-Chamberlain opted to move to Liverpool ahead of the option to move to title holders Chelsea or sign a new long-term contract at Arsenal.
The 24-year-old made his first Premier League start at London Stadium on Saturday evening and Oxlade-Chamberlain netted Liverpool’s third goal in a 4-1 win at West Ham United.
Oxlade-Chamberlain scored his first Liverpool goal in a 7-0 win at Maribor before the England midfielder made his full Champions League debut in a 3-0 victory over the Slovenian side at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Former Liverpool captain Gerrard warned Oxlade-Chamberlain that he is under pressure to deliver but admitted the ex-Arsenal midfielder is starting to find his best form at Anfield.
“He has to deliver because he’s done a bit of talking himself,” Gerrard told BT Sport.
“He’s gone on record and said that his favourite position is in the middle of midfield.
“What I would say is that in the last two or three games when he came on, he looks a lot more like himself, like he’s starting to settle in.
“He has to make a statement as a central midfielder if he wants to stay in this team.”
Liverpool are in fifth place in the Premier League table and four points behind second-placed Manchester United.
The Reds have won their last four games in all competitions to build some momentum heading into the international break.
Klopp signed four players in the summer transfer window.
