Frank Lampard makes confident prediction about Liverpool FC
Frank Lampard is confident that Liverpool FC have what it takes to win their Champions League group
Frank Lampard is tipping Liverpool FC to win their Champions League group despite their recent stuttering form in Europe’s elite club competition.
The Reds were pegged back and held to a 3-3 draw by Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday night as they squandered a three-goal lead at half-time.
Still, Jurgen Klopp’s men are top of their group and one point ahead of Sevilla with one game left to play.
And former Chelsea midfielder Lampard is certain that Liverpool FC will book their place in the last 16 of Europe’s elite club competition by winning their group.
The Reds take on Spartak Moscow at Anfield in their final group game on Wednesday 6 December.
Speaking to BT Sport after Tuesday night’s game, Chelsea legend Lampard said: “Liverpool will win the group with the players they have.
“They’ve stuttered in a pretty average group. But they do have players who can really hurt teams.”
Liverpool FC return to Premier League action on Saturday evening with a crunch clash against Chelsea at Anfield.
Klopp’s side are looking to get themselves back into the title race, with the Reds currently 12 points behind leaders Manchester City after 12 games of the new campaign.
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the table last season as they secured Champions League qualification in Klopp’s first full campaign in charge at Anfield.
