Ian Wright: 25-year-old Liverpool FC star will struggle to surpass Luis Suarez
Arsenal legend Ian Wright doesn't believe Mohamed Salah will surpass Luis Suarez's impact at Anfield
Ian Wright believes Mohamed Salah will struggle to surpass Luis Suarez even if the Liverpool FC signing maintain his brilliant form.
The Egypt international moved to Liverpool FC in a £39m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma in the summer transfer window.
Salah has scored 10 goals in 13 games in the Premier League so far this season to beat Robbie Fowler’s record-breaking start to his Premier League career.
In fact, the summer signing has netted an impressive 15 times in 20 games in all competitions to establish himself as a key part of the Liverpool FC team.
Salah’s start to life at Anfield has drawn comparisons to Barcelona and Uruguay forward Suarez.
The South American established himself as one of the Premier League’s best players during a three-and-a-half season stay at the Merseyside club.
Suarez scored 31 times in 33 games in the Premier League to help Liverpool FC challenge for the title in 2013-14 before finishing behind champions Manchester City.
Former Arsenal striker Wright believes Salah won’t surpass Suarez’s impact at Liverpool FC even if the Egyptian continues to score goals for fun.
“Even if he sustains it, he won’t be Suarez,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live.
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League.
