Steven Gerrard has revealed that he is a big fan of how Mohamed Salah attacks the near post after the summer signing scored his 10th Premier League goal in a 1-1 draw with defending champions Chelsea on Saturday evening.
The Egypt international moved to Liverpool FC in a £39m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma in the summer transfer window to help add greater pace to Jurgen Klopp’s team ahead of the 2017-18 season.
Salah has wasted no time leaving his mark on the Anfield club and the Premier League following a brilliant return of 10 goals in 13 appearances to leave the African top of the goal-scoring charts.
The 25-year-old has also netted five goals in seven games in the Champions League to take his tally to 15 goals in all competitions with his variety of finishes proving a plus point.
Salah managed to seize on a moment of uncertainty in the Chelsae defence at the weekend to break the deadlock with a precise finish before his former team-mate Willian levelled with five minutes remaining.
Former Liverpool FC captain Gerrard named the one aspect of Salah’s game that really impressive the Champions League winner.
Gerrard told BT Sport: “What I’ve been impressed most about him is that he always attacks the post.
“He’s very clever when he gets in behind and is always in a position to finish.”
Salah has scored against Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur this season.
