Antonio Conte has admitted that he's been very impressed by Mohamed Salah's start at Liverpool FC
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been impressed by Liverpool star Mohamed Salah’s start to life at Anfield.
Salah has been one of the stars of the season so far for the Reds and was top scorer in the Premier League before this weekend.
Nine goals from the Egyptian represents a fantastic return from the winger, and Salah has been showing he can make it at the top of the Premiership after two years of struggle at Chelsea.
The Chelsea manager, who sold the Egyptian winger to Roma when he was a Blues player, said in his news conference at Cobham on Friday: “I know him very well. He played in Italy for many years.
“He is a good player, very dangerous, he is a technical player but at the same time he’s very fast, very good at one v ones, and he’s good at finishing.”
He has certainly won admirers with his displays so far, and former boss Conte is one of them.
Salah managed a paltry 13 appearances spread over two seasons while playing for Chelsea, with two loan spells in that time.
It was his time playing for Roma that lured Jurgen Klopp to spend over £40m for his services. His season long loan from Chelsea to the Stadio Olimpico.
The Egyptian ended the Serie A season as top scorer for his loan club, before moving to Anfield.
Now he has moved onto another level with his performances on the pitch, and Chelsea, with Conte in particular, well aware that he could have been banging in the goals in a Chelsea shirt.
