The Daily Mirror is reporting that Jurgen Klopp has been given the “green light” to make new bid to try and lure the Netherlands defender to Anfield.
Liverpool FC were heavily linked with a move to sign the defender in the summer transfer window but a move failed to materialise after the Reds were accused of an alleged illegal approach by Southampton.
The Merseyside outfit were forced to issue an apology and withdrew their interest in the player, but it seemed that the 26-year-old defender was still very keen on a move to Anfield.
There is bound to be plenty of fresh speculation linking Liverpool FC with a fresh move to sign Van Dijk as the January transfer window draws ever nearer.
The same report states that Jurgen Klopp will take a close look at Van Dijk when he lines up for Southampton in Saturday’s Premier League clash at Anfield.
Liverpool FC head into their game against Southampton looking to build on their impressive 4-1 victory over West Ham United before the international break.
The Reds are currently fifth in the Premier League table and 12 points behind leaders Manchester City after 11 games.
