Philippe Coutinho has insisted that he is “happy” at Liverpool FC despite the relentless speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona.

The playmaker was strongly linked with a move to the Spanish club in the summer transfer window and Liverpool were thought to be desperate to try and bring him to Camp Nou.

Coutinho was thought to be keen on a move to Barcelona and was reported to have handed in a transfer request to try and force through a switch.

However, Liverpool held firm and opted not to sell the talismanic forward, and he has since been reintegrated into the first team at Anfield.

There is bound to be plenty of fresh speculation linking Coutinho with a move to Liverpool as the January transfer window draws ever nearer.

However, the player himself has now insisted that he is completely happy with his current situation as he focuses on Liverpool after the international break.

Coutinho is quoted as saying by Sky Sports: “I’m playing in one of the biggest leagues in the world.

“I’m always happy. But now it’s important to concentrate on the national team. At the moment I am very happy with my life.”

Liverpool return to Premier League action after the international break when they take on Southampton at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds are currently 12 points behind the leaders in the race for the Premier League title.
