Sadio Mane: This is why I can shine at Liverpool FC
Sadio Mane explains why he has settled so well into life at Liverpool FC
Sadio Mane has revealed that he has been made to feel like part of the Liverpool FC “family” since his move to the Merseyside outfit from Southampton.
The Senegal forward has earned plenty of praise for his performances for Jurgen Klopp’s men since his switch to Merseyside as he helped the Reds secure a top-four finish in the Premier League last season.
Mane has slotted seamlessly into the Liverpool FC team since his move and has instantly developed an understanding with the likes of Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho up front for the Reds.
The 25-year-old has missed a portion of the season due to injury but has still managed to score three goals and make two assists in six Premier League games.
And Mane has revealed that part of the reason he has slotted in so well to life at Anfield is because he was made to feel welcome by the Reds.
Speaking in an interview with Goal, Mane said: “From the first day, they have shown me that we are a family.
“If you want to be successful when you play, you have to be free in your mind and that happens if you know that everything is taken care of – you just focus on the football.
“I have a good relationship with everyone off the pitch and you can see that it follows on the pitch too.
“It makes things easier and, if we are all together, we get stronger as individuals too.
“The support from the fans is also important, when you feel loved and like they are really behind you, it’s like you can achieve anything.”
Mane will be expecting to line up for Liverpool FC when the Reds take on Southampton at Anfield on Saturday afternoon as they look to begin climbing the Premier League table.
Klopp’s men were 4-1 winners at West Ham United before the international break, with the Reds currently fifth in the table.
