Tim Sherwood says Liverpool FC can forget about winning the Premier League title this season

Tim Sherwood has ruled out Liverpool FC winning the Premier League title this season.
The Reds are in fifth place in the Premier League table following their 3-0 victory over Southampton at Anfield on Saturday afternoon, as Mohamed Salah scored twice and Philippe Coutinho also found the net.
Indeed, Liverpool FC are still 12 points behind leaders Manchester City following a poor start to the season.
The Merseyside outfit are looking to build upon their fourth-place finish last term with a potential title challenge this time around.
However, Liverpool FC are a long way off the pace in the title race, with a top-four finish looking like a tough ask.
Jurgen Klopp was appointed as Brendan Rodgers’ replacement in October 2015 but the ex-Borussia Dortmund coach is still waiting to win his first piece of silverware.
And former Spurs manager Sherwood has ruled out Liverpool FC out of the race for the top flight title this term.
“Liverpool can’t win the league. They’re not title contenders,” Sherwood simply told Sky Sports.
Klopp is now preparing his Liverpool FC side for their trip to Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Liverpool FC haven’t won the Premier League title but came closest with second-place finishes in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
The Reds’ last title triumph came in 1990 under Kenny Dalglish before the advent of the Premier League.
