
The Sun is reporting that the Reds are poised to complete a deal for the 17-year-old in the new year and that the Reds are leading the race to land him.
The teenage midfielder was part of the England Under-17 side who were crowned as world champions last month and the Merseyside outfit are hoping to get a deal tied up in the new year.
The same report claims that Gibbs-White’s contract at Wolves expires in the summer of 2019 and that he could be tempted into a move away from Molineux.
The youngster has been at Wolves since he was eight years old and the Sun claim that he is capable of playing up front as well as an attacking midfielder.
Liverpool are bound to be linked with a host of different players in the coming weeks as the January transfer window draws ever nearer.
One area of the squad Jurgen Klopp is likely to be keen to address is defence, with the Reds having looked far from convincing at the back this season.
