Jamie Redknapp is tipping Manchester City to underline their status as the main contenders for the Premier League title this season by beating Arsenal at The Etihad on Sunday.

The Citizens have been the standout performers in the Premier League this season and currently lead the way at the top of the table, having built a five point lead ahead of Manchester United in 10 games.

Pep Guardiola’s men look as if they will be a force to be reckoned with in the top flight this term and they head into this weekend’s round of fixtures on the back of their Champions League win over Napoli in midweek.

And former Liverpool midfielder Redknapp is fully expecting to see Manchester City claim all three points at The Etihad on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Redknapp said: “I fancy Manchester City to win it.

“They just have too much know-how and too much confidence at the moment. And when you’ve got a player like Kevin De Bruyne pulling the strings, it’s difficult to stop.”

Arsenal head into Sunday’s game on the back of their goalless draw with Red Star Belgrade on Thursday night as they secured their place in the last 32 of the Europa League.

The north London side were 2-1 winners over Swansea last weekend as they look to claw their way back into the title race and try and lift the trophy for the first time since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.
