Paul Merson states his prediction for Man United v Brighton
Paul Merson is confident that Manchester United will beat Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday

Paul Merson is confident Manchester United will beat Brighton thanks to Paul Pogba’s influence in midfield.
The Red Devils will welcome the promoted side to Old Trafford in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.
Manchester United bounced back from a 1-0 loss to defending champions Chelsea last weekend thanks to Pogba’s man of the match performance.
Pogba created Anthony Martial’s equaliser before the versatile midfielder scored his third goal in Manchester United’s 4-1 win against Newcastle United.
The 25-year-old was unable to help Manchester United avoid a 1-0 loss to Swiss side Basel in the Champions League on Switzerland on Wednesday night.
The France international was taken off in the second half before Michael Lang netted an 89th-minute winner in their penultimate group-stage game.
Former Arsenal midfielder Merson is confident Pogba will rediscover his verve against Chris Hughton’s Brighton side on Saturday afternoon.
“Brighton are doing OK, but I just think Man United are a different animal with Paul Pogba back, they’re a better team,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“They looked very good for 60 minutes against Newcastle.
“I know they lost in Basel, but I just think Pogba gives them that something more. I think they’ll have too much power in midfield for Brighton at Old Trafford.”
Manchester United are in second place in the Premier League table but eight points adrift of current leaders Manchester City after 12 games.
The Red Devils have lost to another promoted side Huddersfield Town in a surprise 2-1 defeat at John Smith’s Stadium last month.
Jose Mourinho’s side finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term.
