Alvaro Morata opens up about Jose Mourinho ahead of Chelsea v Man United
Alvaro Morata lifts the lid on his relationship with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho

Alvaro Morata has revealed that he is still in contact with Jose Mourinho despite having signed for Manchester United’s rivals Chelsea in the summer.
The 25-year-old forward opted to join the Blues ahead of the Red Devils back in July as Antonio Conte moved quickly to bolster his attacking options ahead of his second season in charge at the club.
Morata has made a strong start to life at Chelsea, scoring six goals in the Premier League since his move to Stamford Bridge.
The striker was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer but he ended up signing for Chelsea, despite Mourinho being the man to hand Morata his debut at Real Madrid.
And although the Spanish forward now players for Mourinho’s rivals, he insists that he is full of respect for the Manchester United boss.
Morata told Metro: “I have a good relationship with Jose.
“He was my first coach in professional football and he gave me the chance to be a professional. He made me the first contract.
“Sometimes we send messages but not speaking about football, asking if everything’s OK and some jokes.
“It’s good and I appreciate these things because he was my first coach but now he’s – not my enemy – my rival.”
