Antoine Griezmann has insisted that he is not in contact with Jose Mourinho about a possible transfer to Manchester United.

The France international was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United at the start of the summer but he ended up staying at Atletico Madrid after the Spanish club’s transfer ban was upheld.

The 26-year-old is still believed to be a target for the Red Devils, and there is bound to be plenty of fresh speculation linking him with Manchester United ahead of the January and summer transfer windows.

However, Griezmann issues a pretty blunt reply when asked about a possible move to Old Trafford this week.

Asked by Telefoot if he sometimes speaks to Mourinho on the phone, Griezmann simply replied: “No.”

Griezmann has scored three goals and made three assists in all competitions for Atletico Madrid so far this season.

Paul Pogba sparked fresh hope amongst Manchester United fans that Griezmann could be set to move to Old Trafford after he caught up with the attacker last week.

Manchester United are bound to be linked with a host of other players in the coming weeks as the January transfer window edges closer.

The Red Devils are currently second in the table and eight points behind leaders Manchester City in the race for the title.
