Jamie Carragher: Paul Pogba is in awe of Man United star
Jamie Carragher discusses Zlatan Ibrahimovic's dynamic with the other Manchester United players
Jamie Carragher has claimed that Paul Pogba looks like he is “in awe” of Zlatan Ibrahimovic following the striker’s return from a serious knee injury.
Ibrahimovic has made his return to the first team at Old Trafford after missing the first few months of the season with the problem he sustained back in April.
The 36-year-old striker will now be hoping to challenge for a regular place in the first team at Old Trafford as he looks to try and help Manchester United catch Manchester City in the race for the title.
Pogba is enjoying his second season playing alongside Ibrahimovic at Old Trafford, and Carragher has opened up about the type of dynamic he sees between the two players.
Writing in his column for the Daily Telegraph, Ibrahimovic said: “You see the power of Ibrahimovic’s personality in interviews.
“Standing next to Paul Pogba he is like an elder statesman with an apprentice.
“Pogba – one of the most expensive players in the world – looks like he is an awe of Ibrahimovic. This is an aura few players possess.”
Manchester United are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Watford at Vicarage Road on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils are aiming to claw their way back into the title race and catch Manchester City, who they will welcome to Old Trafford for a crunch derby clash on 10 December.
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last season but won both the Europa League and League Cup under Jose Mourinho.
