Graeme Souness has told Manchester United and Chelsea that Manchester City will slip up at some point in the Premier League title race – and it will be up to them to capitalise.

Pep Guardiola’s men have already established themselves as the team to beat in the Premier League title race this season after their flying start to the new campaign.

The Citizens are currently top of the Premier League table and eight points ahead of second-placed Manchester United as they look to try and win the title this season.

Manchester City have won 10 and drawn just one of their opening 11 games in the Premier League to leave Guardiola’s side as the heavy favourites for the title.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea or Manchester United will be able to close the gap to the Citizens in the coming months.

However, former Liverpool star Souness feels sure that Manchester City will indeed slip up at some point.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Sunday, Souness said: “City will lose a game I think, I don’t see them going through it undefeated.

“When they do lose a game, what will the reaction be? The teams catching up will hope it’s a negative one, but at the moment they’re the team to beat.”

Manchester United return to Premier League action after the international break when they host Newcastle at Old Trafford on Saturday 18 November.

The Red Devils are aiming to get back to winning ways after the disappointment of their 1-0 loss to Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.
