Ex-striker sends blunt Man United transfer advice to Marouane Fellaini
Ex-Newcastle striker Craig Bellamy tells Marouane Fellaini to sign a new deal with Manchester United
Craig Bellamy has urged Marouane Fellaini to accept a new deal at Manchester United.
The Red Devils are looking to tie down Fellaini to a new deal amid uncertainty surrounding his future at Old Trafford.
Manchester United are facing the possibility of Fellaini leaving the 20-time English champions for nothing next summer.
The Belgian star has already entered the final 12 months of his current deal to prompt talk of a potential move to Turkish side Fenerbahce.
He struggled to win over the Manchester United supporters following his £27m move to Old Trafford from Everton in the 2013 summer transfer window.
The defensive midfielder was often a scapegoat for the club’s well-documented struggles during David Moyes and Louis van Gaal’s reigns.
However, Fellaini has become an effective weapon to use, especially from the bench, since Jose Mourinho took over at the 20-time English champions.
Former Liverpool and Man City striker Bellamy believes Fellaini shouldn’t hesistate any longer and sign a new deal with the Red Devils.
“If Man United want you, they’re willing to extend the contract, you take it straight away,” Bellamy told Sky Sports.
Manchester United were 4-1 winners against Bellamy’s former club Newcastle United at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
