Man United ponder move for 24-year-old Brazilian in January – report
Manchester United could make a move to try and sign Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk in the January transfer window, say reports
Manchester United are considering a possible transfer move to sign Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk in the January transfer window as a possible replacement for Marouane Fellaini, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is claiming that the Red Devils are monitoring the 24-year-old’s situation and could make a move to try and sign the Brazilian in the new year.
The same report claims that Fred’s strong performances for Shakhtar Donetsk have sparked interest from a number of Europe’s top clubs.
However, the story also says that Fred’s representatives had been keen to take the player to Spain, with both Sevilla and Valencia touted as possible destinations.
But it also claims that a move to the Premier League could now also be on the cards for the dynamic midfielder.
Fred has made 17 appearances for Shakhtar so far this season, scoring one goal and making one assist for the Ukrainian side.
Manchester United are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks as the January transfer window draws ever nearer.
The Red Devils are currently second in the Premier League table and eight points behind leaders Manchester City after 11 games of the new campaign.
