Jose Mourinho: Man United youngster is looking very dangerous
Jose Mourinho reveals his delight with Anthony Martial's recent good form for Manchester United
Jose Mourinho has admitted that he was very happy with Anthony Martial’s performance for Manchester United in the 4-2 win over Watford on Tuesday night.
The 21-year-old striker made his sixth Premier League start of the season for the Red Devils at Vicarage Road and he scored in the second half to help Mourinho’s men claim an important win.
Martial has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot at Old Trafford since Mourinho’s appointment at the club back in May 2016.
However, the France international now seems to be winning over the Portuguese coach as he bids to hold down a spot in the team as the hectic festive period looms large.
And the Manchester United manager has revealed that he was delighted by Martial’s contribution on Tuesday night as he helped the Red Devils seal a win to keep pace with Manchester City at the top of the table.
Speaking at his post-match news conference on Tuesday night, Mourinho said of Martial: “I am pleased [with him].
“I think he suffers a little bit with accumulation of matches. I could feel that in the second half he was going down and down and down.
“He’s still a young guy and his body, his biological situation has space to improve but in the first half, during the time, he had strength and explosion in his legs.
“He was dangerous and [scored] an important goal.”
Martial has scored six goals and made two assists in the Premier League so far this season.
Manchester United now switch their attentions towards their crunch showdown with Arsenal at The Emirates on Saturday evening as they look to continue their good Premier League form.
