Tim Sherwood tells Jose Mourinho to trust Man United squad more
The ex-Spurs boss believes Jose Mourinho needs to have more faith in his Manchester United team
Jose Mourinho needs to show more trust in his Manchester United squad, according to Tim Sherwood.
The Red Devils boss oversaw a disappointing 1-0 loss to defending Premier League champions Chelsea in their last top-flight fixture before the international break.
Manchester United have fallen eight points off the pace following a poor month which saw the Red Devils collect four points from four Premier League games.
Mourinho’s side suffered a shock 2-1 loss to promoted side Huddersfield Town a week after a dour goalless draw with bitter rivals Liverpool.
The 20-time English champions have only managed to score two goals in their last four Premier League outings as Romelu Lukaku continues to struggle up front.
Former Tottenham manager Sherwood has urged Mourinho to show more faith in his Red Devils squad following a disappointing run of results.
“The players Jose has at his disposal, he needs to trust them more,” Sherwood told Sky Sports.
“He needs to say go and beat whoever we’re up against. You’re good enough. That’s what Pep and Pochettino do with their teams.”
Manchester United are looking to win their first Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson got his hands on his final top-flight crown.
The Red Devils won the Europa League and the League Cup in their first season under Mourinho.
