Kevin Kilbane has urged Jose Mourinho to give Manchester United duo Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford the chance to shine in the Red Devils XI.

The 20-time English champions have made an impressive start to the 2017-18 season in the Premier League to challenge Manchester City for the title.

Rashford has started the majority of Manchester United’s top-flight games on the left wing, scoring three goals and making three assists.

Jose Mourinho has used Martial on the left wing in the Champions League but the Frenchman has been an impact substitute in the Premier League.

Martial has made five goals and has created four assists in 14 games in all competitions this term to rival Rashford for a starting spot.

However, former Everton defender Kilbane wants to see Mourinho experiment with both Martial and Rashford in the same team for Manchester United.

“I’d still love to see Jose get both Martial and Rashford in the side together,” Kilbane told Newstalk.

“He hasn’t used them together on a regular basis. It’s always been one or the other. You could have all sorts of interchanging between those two.”

Martial, who came on as a substitute in the 1-0 loss to Chelsea on Sunday, moved to Manchester United in a £36m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in the 2015 summer transfer window.

The Red Devils signed three players in the summer transfer window after adding Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic to their squad.
