Rio Ferdinand explains why he’s not happy with Man United stars
Rio Ferdinand was not happy with Manchester United's second half performance against Basel on Wednesday

Rio Ferdinand blasted Manchester United for an “unprofessional” performance after they slumped to a 1-0 loss to Basel in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils dominated the first half in Switzerland and had plenty of chances to open the scoring in the group-stage clash.
However, Manchester United allowed Basel to grow into the game after the break and the Swiss side eventually capitalised late on, when Michael Lang scored an 89th minute winner for the home side.
The defeat means that Jose Mourinho’s men need to avoid a loss against CSKA Moscow in their final group game at Old Trafford next month to secure their progression to the last 16.
Ferdinand was clearly not impressed with the way that the Manchester United players managed the game in the second half, and warned them that they must step their game up.
Speaking to BT Sport after the game, Ferdinand said: “They’re going to qualify, there’s no doubt about that.
“But when you’ve had a first half like they had in terms of chances… to come out in the second half and to let the game become so open, it wasn’t professional on Manchester United’s part at all.”
Manchester United must now dust themselves down as they prepare to return to Premier League action with a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils are currently second in the Premier League table as they look to close the gap to the leaders Manchester City.
