Juan Mata has warned Manchester United’s title rivals that Jose Mourinho has the complete squad.

The Red Devils have made a strong start to the Premier League campaign but have fallen short of leaders Manchester City in the title race.

Manchester United managed to keep pace with Manchester City in the season’s opening seven games before collecting four points from four games over the last month.

The 20-time English champions lost to promoted side Huddersfield Town and title holders Chelsea to leave them eight points behind Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side.

Manchester United welcomed Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba back from injury on Saturday evening as the Red Devils eased to a 4-1 win against Newcastle.

Mata believes Manchester United have the perfect blend of youth and experience to put them in a strong position to challenge for the title.

“I think at United right now we have a fantastic squad,” Mata told ESPN FC.

“We have a good mix of experienced players and young players, players who know the Premier League really well.

“We have signed great additions to the squad. I don’t know if it’s the best, but it’s definitely one of the most complete squads that I have been in.”

Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last season.

However, the Red Devils won the Europa League and the League Cup in Mourinho’s first season in charge.

Mata moved to Manchester United in a £37.1m deal from Chelsea in the 2013 January transfer window.

Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013.
