Ashely Young lifted the lid on Marcus Rashford’s nickname in the Manchester United dressing room with a cheeky birthday message for the striker on social media.

The England centre-forward turned 20 on Wednesday after Rashford helped Manchester United to ease to a 2-0 victory over Portuguese side Benfica in the Champions League.

The Red Devils starlet came off the bench to win a second-half penalty to allow Netherlands international Daley Blind to put the result beyond doubt.

Rashford burst onto the Manchester United scene under Louis van Gaal after he scored on his Europa League debut before he netted on his first Premier League appearance.

The England international has taken some big challenges in his stride having also scored on his England and Champions League debuts.

Young is on the other side of the spectrum as the Manchester United veteran prepares to turn 33 in 2019.

The Manchester United wing-back posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:

“You may no longer be a teen but you’re still The Kid. Happy birthday @marcusrashford ‬”

Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last season.

However, Mourinho led the Red Devils to glory in the League Cup and the Europa League.

Manchester United signed three players in the summer transfer window.
