Marcus Rashford: Man United trio have brought happy vibe to Jose Mourinho’s squad
The Man United striker opens up about the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Marcos Rojo
Marcus Rashford has claimed that the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Marcos Rojo has brought a happy vibe to the Manchester United squad.
The England international helped the Red Devils to ease to a 1-0 win against promoted side Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford at the weekend.
Ashley Young’s deflected strike sealed three points for the hosts as Ibrahimovic, Pogba and Rojo all featured in the Premier League clash.
Manchester United remain in second place but are eight points adrift of runaway leaders Manchester City with 25 games to play in the 2017-18 season.
The 20-time English champions are facing a huge game against Manchester City in the derby on Sunday 8 December when the title race could take a potential twist.
And Rashford revealed that the return of Ibrahimovic, Pogba and Rojo from serious injury problems has boosted the morale of Mourinho’s squad ahead of a crucial spell in their season.
“Not even just thinking about football, but thinking about them personally too, it’s hard to see your team-mates out for so long,” Rashford told MUTV. “To have them all back now has brought a really happy vibe to the squad.
“I’m sure they’re all really happy to be back playing again, and if we can keep winning with them in the team, it keeps everything rolling on.”
Manchester United are unbeaten in the Premier League since a 1-0 loss to defending Premier League champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge at the end of October.
The Red Devils haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson got his hands on his final top-flight crown.
