Jamie Carragher names one area where Man United star Paul Pogba must improve
The Liverpool legend wants to see Paul Pogba perform in Manchester United's biggest games
Paul Pogba lacks discipline in Manchester United’s biggest games, Jamie Carragher has warned.
The Red Devils welcomed Pogba back into the Manchester United team for the visit of Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.
The France international teed up Anthony Martial to equalise for Manchester United before he netted their third goal in a 4-1 win against Magpies.
Pogba’s return to the Manchester United team helped to bring out the best in summer signing Romelu Lukaku, who has struggled in recent weeks.
The 25-year-old has made a brilliant start to the season following a return of three goals and two assists in five Premier League games so far.
However, former Liverpool defender Carragher has questioned Pogba’s ability to thrive in the biggest games for Manchester United.
“In big games, he lacks disciplines when you need him to be in certain positions in big games,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
The 25-year-old struggled to hit the ground running in his first season back at Old Trafford, and Pogba’s performances attracted criticism despite a return of five goals and four assists.
Pogba moved back to Manchester United in an £86m deal following his four-year spell at Juventus after an £800,000 switch from the Red Devils under Sir Alex Ferguson.
