Man United’s forgotten man sends message to fans about his return
Marcos Rojo reveals that he is hoping to be back fit for Manchester United next month
Marcos Rojo has revealed that he is hoping to be back fit for Manchester United’s Champions League clash against CSKA Moscow on 5 December.
The defender has not yet featured for Manchester United this season after picking up a serious knee injury back in April.
Rojo has been working hard on his fitness levels behind the scenes at Old Trafford as he bids to get back to full fitness as soon as possible for the Red Devils.
Now, the Argentina defender has delivered a positive update about his situation as he targets a return to the first team under Jose Mourinho next month.
Rojo told TyC Sports: “On Wednesday I am going to play with the reserves in a friendly match.
I feel good. Up until now, I have not had any problems but training is not the same as a match.
“In three weeks we have a Champions League game and if all goes well tomorrow, I could play in that.”
Manchester United, meanwhile, are preparing to return to Premier League action on Saturday with a home clash against Newcastle United.
The Red Devils head into the game looking to get back to winning ways after the disappointment of their 1-0 loss to Chelsea before the international break.
Mourinho’s men are aiming to challenge for the Premier League title this season but already find themselves eight points behind leaders Manchester City after 11 games of the new campaign.
Manchester United finished sixth and won the League Cup and Europa League last season.
